What Are Readers Saying

Readers from all walks of life have found themselves in David Singer’s story. Here’s what they’re saying:

Kathy Falcon

Whiting, NJ

A compelling story of his life and approach to circumstances that may face each of mankind.  A search for self and the accomplishments of that search.

He shares his, Love in Spirit, for others, for their well being and fortitude.  Helping and encouraging them in their own trials.

Truly a human story of searching for self, of compassion and thoughtfulness for others.

Ultimately the realization that he has given his whole without holding back.

I find the book an excellent read.

A good memoir leaves the author vulnerable and the reader connected to the person’s life. Singer has done just that in this easy-to-read account of his growth from boyhood to present day. He uncovers his deepest thoughts and feelings of the relationships he created along the way and sometimes of the loss of those same relationships – always trying to connect and remain connected along his life’s journey. Singer invites the reader to get to know him and to share the experiences and heart aches of a life well-lived. A good read.

I am enjoying this book. For me, it’s a candid glimpse of a time and a place that was more innocent, when family and friends mattered. My life has run a completely different course from the author’s, but I can still relate. In many senses, this is an “Everyman” book about the value of human interaction.

I felt like I was walking beside David through every chapter of his life. This book touched me in ways I didn’t expect.

I realized a long time ago that everyone has an interesting life story, but in order to interest others, you’ve got to know which stories to tell and how to tell them. It’s clear that Singer knows this. He’s a therapist but he doesn’t lecture or preach to the reader; instead he allows the reader to learn from his (Singer’s) experiences. Or not, because although there are lessons here, it’s also a story of an interesting life. He’s refreshingly imperfect (especially for a therapist!) and endearingly forthcoming about his own occasional missteps.
The book is an easy read because it’s so well written. As someone who has taught English and history, one of the most praiseworthy comments I could give my my students’ writings was to call them well crafted. To me, this meant that they hadn’t settled for just any word, but searched until they discovered the perfect word or set of words to clearly, accurately, and interestingly convey their descriptions and ideas. This book is well crafted.
I enjoyed the book and found it useful as a tool to ponder my own life.

In this book, Singer shares intimate and honest reflections about everything from his childhood, to his career, to his most meaningful relationships. His insight is informed by decades of professional and personal experiences. His is a very relatable story, with tales of self-doubt, personal growth, finding love, and navigating complex family relationships.
Each chapter clearly illustrates how every stage of life, every triumph and disappointment, is shaped by human connection. Those connections define our lives, and can ultimately bring us the joy and fulfillment we are seeking. An enjoyable read that is sure to resonate, encourage, and inspire those looking for purpose and peace.

One of the first books that I’ve read cover to cover, in along time. David’s writing is masterful, and he knows very well how to tell a story, inter weaving his special and unique experiences in reflections that are universal. He has a sensitivity in writing and communicating that is rare, especially in or culture today. He exposes his own flaws and foibles, with a generous spirit, relatable to so many ways of my life… and I dare to say in all our lives. This book is not to be missed.
